User Agreement

To use AnyScience, you must:

• Be at least 16 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it
• Have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws
• Provide accurate and complete registration information

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has agreed to this Agreement on your behalf.

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current and complete information about yourself
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

You may only maintain one personal account. Accounts registered with false information or operated by someone other than the registered user may be terminated.

You agree to use the Service responsibly and in accordance with its purpose, and to follow our Content Policy. You may not:

• Violate any applicable laws, regulations or third-party rights
• Post false, misleading or fraudulent content
• Harass, threaten, defame or intimidate other users
• Post content that is hateful, discriminatory or promotes violence
• Share sexually explicit or obscene material
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of others
• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or engage in deceptive practices
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other accounts
• Use software, scripts, robots, crawlers, browser extensions or any other automated means to access the Service, or to copy, extract or collect profiles, research records or other information from it
• Copy, use, disclose, sell or distribute information obtained from the Service, including information about researchers, other than for your own personal or professional use of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

Where you post, present or represent content on the Service, you agree to:

• Accurately represent your credentials, affiliations, education and work
• Respect intellectual property rights and give proper credit for anything created by others
• Not engage in plagiarism, fabrication, falsification or other misconduct
• Only post content you have the right to post
• Respect confidentiality obligations and institutional policies

AnyScience allows users to create and join research lab pages. If you create or administer a lab:

• You represent that you have authority to create and manage the lab page
• You are responsible for managing membership requests and member conduct
• You agree to keep lab information accurate and up to date

If you request to join a lab, you represent that your affiliation claim is truthful. Misrepresenting your affiliation with a lab or institution may result in account termination.

You retain ownership of content you post on AnyScience ("Your Content"). By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, copy, modify, display and distribute Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except where Your Content has been shared with others who have not deleted it.

Sharing by other members. By posting content on the Service you also grant other members a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to view it and to share it, within the Service and by sharing a link to it on other platforms, using the features the Service provides and subject to any visibility settings you have chosen. This licence ends for content you delete, except where it has already been shared.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to post Your Content and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

The Service may display professional information about published researchers obtained from publicly accessible sources, including researchers who are not members. If a record concerns you, you may claim it, and you may ask us to correct or remove it as described in our Privacy Policy. Claiming a record is a representation that it is yours; we may remove a claim we find to be false. Records are provided as they appear in their sources, and we do not warrant their completeness or accuracy.

The Service and its original content (excluding Your Content), features and functionality are owned by AnyScience and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written permission. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Service without our express authorisation.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, services or content that are not owned or controlled by AnyScience. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services. You access third-party content at your own risk.

Your right to terminate: you may deactivate or delete your account at any time through your account settings where available, or by contacting us. Deletion is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our right to terminate: we may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated this Agreement. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

Sections of this Agreement that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components. We are not responsible for the accuracy, reliability or completeness of any content posted by users.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnyScience shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. In no event shall our total liability exceed the greater of $100 USD or the amount you paid us, if any, in the past six months for the Service.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AnyScience, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of this Agreement, or your violation of any rights of another party.

We encourage you to contact us first if you have any concerns or disputes. Most issues can be resolved informally by reaching out to us.

Any dispute arising from this Agreement or your use of the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located in Delaware for the resolution of any disputes.

We may update this Agreement from time to time. Updates take effect on the date stated. We may ask you to review and accept an updated Agreement in order to continue using the Service.

This Agreement, together with the Content Policy and Copyright Policy it incorporates, constitutes the entire agreement between you and AnyScience regarding the Service. Some products have their own terms. Where you use such a product, whether on your own account or on behalf of an organisation, those terms also govern that use and prevail over this Agreement in the event of conflict; nothing in them reduces your obligations under this Agreement. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of this Agreement will not be considered a waiver of those rights. You may not assign or transfer this Agreement without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under this Agreement without restriction.
